My Children's Rebecca Budig: I Needed Leo and Greenlee to Finish Up Together

Rebecca Budig and Josh Duhamel Sadly, My Children's Leo du Curr wasn't among the lucky, formerly-late Pine Valley people raised from the dead by David Heyward in recent days. Rather, Josh Duhamel came back as Leo for any single episode this month, showing up to Greenlee within an all-too-brief dream by which she imagined he'd been saved by David and stashed each one of these years. A minimum of there is smooching before she awoke though, right? Still, it isn't precisely what Rebecca Budig been on mind. A week ago on location in the Descanso Gardens, Budig, who became a member of the cleaning soap as Greenlee in 1999, told TVGuide.com that they had imagined another "ever after" on her character as My Children prepares to visit from the air the following month. Will Susan Lucci remain on My Children if this moves online? "You are aware how I needed Leo to return? I needed him to become my ending," Budig stated. "Taking nothing from Ryan (Cameron Mathison), however i wanted Leo and Greenlee to undergo this complete factor. I thought about being battling because I discover he's alive, so when I've found him, he's battling because I am the passion for his existence." "Ultimately, I needed these phones set off together," Budig ongoing. "The crowd does not know what is going to occur to them, we simply discover their whereabouts disappearing.Inch Rather, obviously, Greenlee awoke to locate Zach (Thorsten Kaye), still alive after heading down inside a plane crash several several weeks ago. "It had been just a little bizarre. I had been thrilled to utilize Josh again, however it was kind of a tease, too," she stated. Budig only has 72 hours left of filming before Greenlee's story is wrapped permanently. (Nobody within the cast has yet signed onto an internet version from the show, slated to produce the coming year.) Requested about her favorite Greenlee moments, she does not hesitate: "The bath tub moments with Leo. Individuals were fun, good moments," she stated. Her favorite scene ever can also be one she distributed to Duhamel. Agnes Nixon sets on-air go back to My Children "Leo and Greenlee within the wine cellar," she stated. "We are at some party and I am looking to get to Ryan, because Greenlee was enthusiastic about him, and Leo comes lower rather and that we get located in. I am furious, and he's pissed to become stuck inside, but we go to open your wine and obtain drunk. It had been so funny." "I'd something with Josh that I have never had with anybody," Budig stated. "It simply felt really real and authentic and that is tricky to find. I actually do believe with Cameron, too, though. I'm not sure - I acquired lucky." Take a look at vintage Leo and Greenlee, first within the bath tub (begins at 3:15, however the lead-up is fairly funny), after which within the wine cellar: Who's better for Greenlee - Ryan or Leo?

Born John Kennedy Oswald in Akron, Lane would be a veteran of Ohio and Florida metal bands when he created Plain Jane with drummer Steven Sweet. The music artists moved to L.A. within the late 1980s, plus they attracted the interest of guitarist Erik Turner, the founding father of Warrant, who drafted these phones join his band. With Lane fronting the act, Warrant grew to become a well known Sunset Strip act, and was signed to Columbia. The band's debut ''Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich'' (1989) and sophomore release ''Cherry Pie'' (1990) both went double-platinum the first kind created no. 2 single ''Heaven,'' as the latter contained the very best 10 records ''Cherry Pie'' and ''I Saw Red-colored.'' Warrant's recognition didn't overcome the style for glammed-up metal, and also the group's third album ''Dog Eat Dog'' (1992) peaked at No. 25. EMMYS: Movies & Miniseries Race Is On

EMMYS: Why Movies & Mini-Series Combined Now that the movie and mini-series categories have been combined by theTV Academy, its interesting that in thisfirst year of the new configuration voters predictably favoredthe more expensive and elaborate mini-seriesformat with 4 of the 6 nominations. One reason for the change in the first place was because of theperceived paucity in the numbers of minis eligible, so go figure.Actually among those contenders that didnt make the cut I would arguethat perhaps two other minis got robbed:Sundance Channels Carlos whichwas the darling of everyfilm festival it entered beginning with Cannes.AndBBC AmericasLuther also deserved a spot but its grim subject matter focusing on a brilliant detective who takes a walk on the dark side may have turned off thosewho preferred thesleaze factor of Reelz Channels The Kennedys instead. But what about thosethat did get the nod? Heres thehandicapping. CINEMA VERITE (HBO) This made-for-HBO movie told the story of the Loud Family who livedtheir dysfunctional lives in front of a documentary film crew thus becoming thetemplate for todays multitude of reality TV programs. The film received mixed reviews and isnt generallyconsidered HBOs finest hour but Diane Lane shone brightly in it and lifted thematerial, deservedly getting a Best Actress Emmy nomination. Considering theadvance age ofmany voters, the memory ofthe real Loud family and their TV meltdown may be too vivid for any narrative film to overcome. Still its 9 overallnominations including Directing for Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulciniare impressive althoughthe lack of a writing nod isnt a good omen. This one is a real long shot to battle the mini-series tide in thecategory and may just wind up a bridesmaidthis season. DOWNTON ABBEY (PBS) This stunning mini-series fromMasterpiece Theatre is a period pre-WWIdrama centering on the conflicts surrounding the Crawley family and theirservants. British dramas are often showered with Emmy love and this is noexception garnering 11 nominations overall including writing, directing, andacting nods for Elizabeth McGovern and Maggie Smith. There is no giant mini like John Adams, Band of Brothers, or The Pacific to stomp all over itdespite HBO rival Mildred Pierces whopping 21nominations. A great script from Oscar winner Julian Fellowes (Gosford Park),a magnificent castthat also includes HughBonneville, and fine production values madecritics swoon. This is the one to watch coming upto the front from the outside. A second season is already planned for fans who just couldntget enough. THE KENNEDYS (Reelz Channel) This $25 million 6-hourminiwidely derided as playing with the facts was jettisoned by theHistory Channel which originally commissioned it and finally found a homeon the little-seen Reelz Channel.I thought Emmy voters might turn their backson it, too, but an outsized 10 nominations proved me wrong. Never overestimatethe tastes of Emmy voters as those nominations put it in the game, likely atthe expense of the far superior Carlos and Luther. Stars Greg Kinnear, Barry Pepper, and Tom Wilkinson reeled in Emmy nods aswell but there was no love for the mini in writing and directing categories. Not a good sign. Reelz did send a 3-DVDset of the show to all Academy members but it would likely only have a fightingchance in a weaker year and this is NOT a weak year. This is the longest ofshots. It should just be content to get an invite to the party. MILDRED PIERCE (HBO) Perennial winner HBOs big mini this season was this 5-part remake ofMildred Pierce, the 1945 noir fromJames M. Cains book that won Joan Crawford her Best Actress Oscar. It islikely it will do the sameEmmy-wise for star Kate Winslet who runs with the role that pays closer attention tothe original novel.Pierce itself facesfierce competition for the crown in this category because at its heart it isjust a soap and the overlong adaptation exposes some of its flaws. But youcannot ignore the fact that it is leading all comers in this years Emmy racewith 21 nominations, a total bloated by 6 acting bids. Just based on those rawnumbers it would seem to have wide support across the Academy. Reviews werentover the moon and ratings were less than expected, but directorTodd Haynes gave it verve and style and that may be enough to carry the day. Butthis is no slam dunk even if its closest rivals(Downton Abbey and Too Big To Fail) received barely morethan half of Ms. Pierces haul. THE PILLARS OF THE EARTH (Starz) An epic 8-part mini-series attempt togive Starz some instant Emmy cred based onKen Folletts bestseller.A sterling cast led by IanMcShane helped to turn this old-fashioned mini into a contender for Academyvoters who fondly remember when this sort of big-scalewas catnip for the broadcast networks.Although those voters awarded it 7 nominations, thats the smallest totalin the category andincludes no mention of acting, writing, or directing. For Chris Albrecht who was used to all that Emmy glory when he was at HBO,Pillars reps a small stepping stone back into Emmys golden circle and managing to land one of the prized slots in this very competitiveyear is victory enough for theStarz. TOO BIG TO FAIL (HBO) This riveting drama based on the non-fiction book of the same name by New York Times financial journalist Andrew Ross Sorkinis is the most current and contemporary of the nominees.Playing Treasury Secretary HankPaulsonis Emmy-nominated William Hurt who turns in one ofhis best performances in years. But the whole cast shines includingBilly Crudup,Topher Grace, Cynthia Nixon,James Woods, and Paul Giamatti.Oscar winner Curtis Hanson directed and wouldhave taken the Movie category this year hadit still existed on its own (particularly with 11 noms). But alas Too Big To Fail is probably now too small to win in thecombinedcategory against much stiffercompetition.

Viacom Reports Higher Quarterly Profit, Revenue

NEW YORK - Viacom on Friday reported higher fiscal third-quarter earnings and revenue that handily exceeded Wall Street expectations as its cable networks unit continued to grow advertising and affiliate revenue.our editor recommendsAn Epix decision for Viacom-MGM ventureAnalyst downgrades Viacom shares rating The latter's strength positively surprised analysts with momentum driven in part by recent deals with digital distributors, such as Netflix, mirroring digital momentum highlighted in the latest earnings report from CBS Corp., which is also controlled by Sumner Redstone. Viacom's film unit recorded mixed results. "There is no doubt Viacom is at the top of its game," said president and CEO Philippe Dauman on a conference call. He vowed that there is more room to grow revenue from digital distribution deals with the likes of Netflix and Hulu in the U.S. and abroad. As a result, he projected high single to low double digit growth in affiliate fee revenue for years to come starting from this year's higher base. He also said profit margins on digital distribution deals are in excess of 75 percent. Viacom's latest quarter included 19 percent growth in overall affiliate fee revenue, which was "much higher than our 8.5 percent estimate," said Credit Suisse analyst Spencer Wang. "We believe that the upside is likely related to foreign exchange [factors] and digital revenue - e.g. revenue from licensing content to digital affiliates such as Netflix and Hulu." BTIG analyst Richard Greenfield estimated that digital deals added about $70 million in revenue in the latest quarter. Entertainment giant Viacom posted a quarterly adjusted profit from continuing operations of $583 million, up 35 percent from the year-ago period. Before adjustments that eliminated one-time items that affect the comparability of the two quarters, earnings from continuing operations rose 33 percent to $574 million. Operating profit at the company's media networks segment jumped 27 percent to $1.03 billion, but the film unit's operating profit declined from $69 million to $49 million. The latest quarter included $14 million of "employee separation costs attributable to the media networks segment," Viacom said without disclosing how much of that was due to the departure in the quarter of MTV Networks CEO Judy McGrath. It did say though that the figure included "accelerated vesting of certain equity-based compensation awards." A spokeswoman declined to comment further. Viacom's revenue rose 15 percent to $3.77 billion driven by a 16 gain in the networks division, including a 12 percent U.S. advertising revenue improvement, and a 13 percent increase in the film unit. Management said advertising trends remain solid in the current quarter, and it should again rise in the double-digits in the U.S. Quarterly film results benefited from higher TV license fees and home entertainment results, offset by a 9 percent decline in theatrical revenue from such titles as Thor, Super 8, Kung Fu Panda 2 and the latest Transformers release. The decline was mainly due to the timing of film releases. "The prior year period benefited from strong carryover revenues from DreamWorks Animation's How to Train Your Dragon whereas Transformers: Dark of the Moon was released in the final week of the fiscal 2011 third quarter, which will result in the majority of the film's theatrical revenues occurring in the fiscal fourth quarter," the company said. Discussing the recent launch of a Paramount Pictures animated film arm, Dauman said "the timing is ripe for this move." He cited the company's reinvigorated studio and "abundant creative vigor," highlighting that the first animated release is expected in 2014 with budgets for the one animation film per year of up to $100 million. While Viacom's MTV didn't have a new season of Jersey Shore in the latest quarter, the network's ratings continued to rise. Dauman highlighted a slew of hits, such as Teen Mom, and touted Thursday night's return of Jersey Shore. He also highlighted new hit shows on other Viacom networks, such as Comedy Central's Workaholics, TV Land's Happily Divorced and VH-1's Mob Wives and Single Ladies. Said executive chairman and controlling shareholder Redstone: "I am very pleased with Viacom's outstanding results. Our strategic focus and consistent investment in creative content are continuing to drive our growth." "The breadth of hit programming found across Viacom's media network portfolio continues to expand with top-rated shows and tentpole events on MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, BET and TV Land, as well as many of our international networks, all of which contributed to strong advertising growth and a robust advertising upfront performance," said Dauman in a statement, also lauding Paramount Pictures for being the first studio ever to have a record six consecutive $100 million-plus domestic box office movies and being the first studio to cross the $1 billion U.S. box office milestone for the fifth year in a row. Asked about the blurring of differences between Viacom and CBS, which were separated in 2006, but are now competing in some businesses, such as in film, and are both paying dividends these days, Dauman simply said that the split is "ancient history" now, and his team's strategy is playing out well. "In addition to our creative and operational success, Viacom is in the best financial shape in its history and has furthered its commitment to return cash to our shareholders with the recent increase in our dividend and the acceleration of our stock buyback program," Dauman also said Friday. Redstone on Friday's call once again lauded Viacom for having found its creative and operating stride and called Dauman his "close friend" and "one of the wisest, if not the wisest man, I've ever met in my life." Today on indieWIRE: 'Twixt' Trailer, What to See This Month & More

Today on indieWIRE, we told you what not to miss in theaters this month, we present the trailer for Francis Ford Coppola's cheap-looking horror bore 'Twixt,' and much more. Most DIY distributors would love to be in Edward Bates' position: He's a first-time distributor who's handling a film with an enormous, passionate and plugged-in fan base. He has theaters selling out before the film even opens. There's one problem: Audiences are so eager to see Kevin Kerslake's 'Electric Daisy Carnival Experience,' a documentary about the culture of electronic dance music, that theaters are scared to screen it. More here. Can you tell that Cameron Crowe's 'We Bought a Zoo' is on the way? With TIFF and Venice now just around the corner, we presume that his first feature film in six years will soon be added to the lineups of one or both festivals, as the press train is now beginning to pick up some major steam. Following news over the weekend that Sigur Rós frontman Jónsi will be scoring the film, a batch of new images have emerged for the upcoming dramedy. Go here to check them out. Director Jonathan Nossiter's 'Rio Sex Comedy' is headed to digital entertainment company FilmBuff. The feature, starring Bill Pullman, Charlotte Rampling, Irene Jacob and Fisher Stevens, will launch via cable and broadband video-on-demand Aug. 30. Full press release here. Have we been punked? The first trailer for Francis Ford Coppola's gothic horror pic, 'Twixt,' hit the Web today (it's the same footage he premiered at Comic-Con just over a week ago) and we're sad to report it's a cheap-looking snooze. If there is anything that defines Southeastern European films, it is, on the one hand the region's diversity, and on the other, particular facts that the countries share. Distinct cultures, customs and values -- with certain similarities -- mark the personality and soul of each place. But almost all the countries in the region share a recent past of tyranny, war, radical political change, significant poverty and unemployment. The need for funds to produce films in the region is great, but even greater is the urgent need to tell stories. The films in competition at this year's Sarajevo Film Festival -- all from Southeastern Europe -- were compelling, with a strong presence of new talent. Go here for the list of five must sees from the event. This week on the small screen, an animated dog and its owner get up close and personal, a slacker becomes a sleuth and much more. Full list of picks here. There's a whopping 25 films listed on indieWIRE's August calendar. From an apocalyptic love story to the best race-car driver who ever lived, check out indieWIRE's picks for the seven best options, and then check out the full calendar or iW's summer movie preview; there's many worthy films that didn't make this list. Want to know what did? Go here. There is no mistaking it -- Brit Marling is having a moment. Arriving at Sundance earlier this year with two films, 'Another Earth' and 'Sound of Your Voice,' performing triple duties on each film -- acting, writing and producing -- she soon saw major buzz surround both works, with Fox Searchlight picking up rights for the pair, and the former flick earning two prizes for director Mike Cahill. Certainly not a bad way to make your entrance into Hollywood and, like Noomi Rapace and Jennifer Lawrence in 2010, this year Marling seems to be the new actress that everyone wants to have a piece of. Go here to learn what she's up for.

National Geographic Australia's toughest Prison - Lockdown Oz

In the last decade Australia's prison population has bending. But of all of the States, it's Western Australia which has the greatest quantity of criminals per population. Incarceration rates listed here are 40 % greater compared to national average. What exactly could it be concerning the 'Big Empty' that triggers men to finish up in jail? Could it be more lawless out West? Would be the coppers better at catching crooks? Does the convict past possess a more powerful influence in Australia's biggest Condition? One factor is without a doubt. Serving amount of time in a WA prison isn't for that faint hearted. With prison capacity at a record high, the cell blocks are overflowing. Casuarina, Western Australia's Maximum Security Prison, is made for 360 inmates. It presently houses 525. The very first time ever, our cameras walk inside Casuarina Prison to witness existence in jail within an Australian Super Max.
